Syllabus

At present all tests are based on WebStarter Syllabus 1.5 in PDF* format.

The ECDL Foundation has launched a new syllabus for WebStarter in October 2009. The new syllabus was developed to ensure that the ECDL WebStarter certification programme, which was originally developed in 2004, continues to reflect advances in technologies and current practices of users of web authoring applications.

The main principles underlying the revision of the syllabus were the need to accomodate changes in the usage of applications in today's fast developing ICT world, to reflect the typical behaviour of users in this domain, and to ensure seamless integration with ECDL Core Syllabus 5.0.

The ECDL WebStarter qualification has been renamed ECDL Web Editing to keep with the naming approach used in other ECDL Core modules e.g. ECDL Word Processing and ECDL Spreadsheets.

Local Test Centres will be able to offer testing on the new syllabus during 2010. More details will be made available on this page.

The ECDL Web Editing Syllabus 2.0 is available here in PDF* format.

*You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view PDF files on your system.
